Flying Trapeze Performance & Potluck Picnic

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages - the Trapeze Club of New Paltz would like to welcome you to share food, flying, and fun with us. We invite YOU to come to our Potluck Picnic Party. Come enjoy live music, great food, flying trapeze, and a really good time with us!

Kicking off the festivities will be demonstrations by some of our very talented (and very cute) child student flyers. From ages 5 to 15, these kids will show you how to fly! Then, our adult beginner and intermediate students will take their turns in the sky. Watch them all as they entertain you in the air with determination and focus. Finally, witness as what looks like the impossible come to life when the coaching team performs feats of death defying acrobatics - without safety lines! We are very pleased to also have special guest performances by Melody Africa, a traditional West African Drum and Dance Troupe whose members are internationally known, as well as folk/ bluegrass music by local artists Charlie & Theo Schikowitz.

SPECIAL EVENTS

After spectating all of the aerial awesomeness, we know that you will want to know what it feels like to fly for yourself, so we are giving you that opportunity! For only $10, you can take a turn on the flying trapeze, with the assistance of safety lines and facilitation, and experience the exhilaration of this exciting activity! *Please note that if you plan to fly, or think that you might want to, we will ask you to remove your jewelry and put it in a safe place; also, appropriate clothing is preferable - shorts or yoga pants are better for flying than jeans, sweat pants, skirts, and dresses. We ask that participants recognize the 250lb weight restriction.

There will also be a raffle for Trapeze Club clothing, a COMPLEMENTARY 2 hour flying trapeze class, as well as other prizes! And, of course, there will be the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and memorabilia.
