JAMES GIBSON "J BIRD"


I am the director of the flying trapeze program here in New Paltz, and you can call me J Bird. I've been involved with the beautiful art of flying trapeze for 11 years. My introduction to circus arts began in Club Med Sandpiper and has taken me to Mexico, South America, Africa, and all around these great United States. I have worked with some of the masters of flying trapeze: like Tony Steele, the Espanas, and the Farfans.

I'm excited to be a part of the team at the Trapeze Club at Stone Mountain farm in New Paltz! I look forward to taking everyone - beginners, intermediate and advanced enthusiasts - to new heights! My goal is to challenge flyers into the fulfillment of their dreams and beyond. The art of flying trapeze is a transformative, holistic workout, and through it, you can "raise the bar" for yourself, and witness how powerful and magical you really are.
